I am highly aggitated. I completed a clients site at work today (rather
quickly to) and got it all ready to send to the client for review.
I got home, had my dinner and was going to show a friend to get their
opinionon the design.
I check out the site. DISASTER! An important image that is requried to hold
the site together layout wise is missing and the site looks corrupted.
So I shoot back 10 miles to my office. No ones around. I'm rushing as I
wanted to make sure the client doesn't see the defective version and wondering
what the hells happened as things were fine when I left it. I suspected
sabotage.
I get to work and all is well. what the hell I ask? still suspecting sabotage
I get home and investigate.
NORTON, you are MUPPETS. I tracked the problem down to the adblocking on my
norton Internet security 2006 package. I KNEW somthing was up with my system as
i've experienced this phenomina one time before with my previous job and never
got to the bottom of it (Altough norton isnt the cause of that one - Not sure
whatthe deal is with that site).
My question is WHY has norton blocked this image? I have a feeling it blocks
anything even remotely resembling ads - and that probaly includes image
dimensions.
I have unblocked the site via norton but i'm not happy. I wonder how many of
the other 50 zillion sites i've developed over the last 6 years have been
effected by this.
Not everyone is smart enough to realise that Norton blocks and awful lot of
stuff online, and those people we're merely think my work is defective.
Not a happy bunny. not happy at all.
